How it works
How it works
Deep Link is a feature designed to improve how users navigate and find what they need on ubs.com through search. Instead of a classic search simply listing pages, Deep Link allows use to highlight specific actions within search results, giving users direct access to the tasks they are trying to complete.
In a normal search a user might search "credit cards" and then click on a search result, landing on a general informational page about our credit card offerings, where they would then need to find the credit card application option. With Deep Link, that search result can directly link to the application form itself, bypassing multiple clicks and pages.
When a user performs a search, the system evaluates the relevance of each result. If the result's score meets a pre-defined threshold, it's highlighted at the top of the search results with a prominent CTA. This CTA takes the user directly to the specific page or section of a page where they can complete their desired action.
By connecting users directly to what they want to do, rather than just find, Deep Link makes ubs.com more efficient, intuitive and user-friendly. It's about anticipating user needs and providing immediate solutions through search.聽
Important considerations
Important considerations
- Meaningful CTAs: The success of Deep Link is tied to providing clear, concise, and actionable CTAs. Generic labels like "Click here" or "Learn more" are ineffective and reduce engagement. Instead focus on describing the direct benefit to the user. For example, instead of "Learn more", use "Apply for a Classic Credit Card now" or "Open an account now". Think about what the user wants to achieve and reflect that in the CTA. Poorly worded CTAs will not only be ignored but also dilute the overall effectiveness of the search and potentially frustrate users. It needs to be instantly clear what action will be taken when the CTA is clicked.
- Collection pages: For pages that aggregate multiple actions (e.g., accounts and cards), it is recommended not to add a primary CTA to avoid confusion. Instead, focus on specific pages where a single action can be highlighted.

- Desktop: Enter a meaningful title in the "Deep Link Title" field. Then, provide the direct link to the relevant target action in the "Deep Link Target" field. Finally, specify the "Deep Link Accessibility Attribute".
- Mobile: If the mobile experience differs from the desktop experience, repeat the process for the "Mobile Deep Link Title", "Mobile Deep Link Target", and "Mobile Deep Link Accessibility Attribute". If the experiences are the same, the same value can be used.

Key configuration details
Key configuration details
- Location: Deep Links is configured at the country and language level to ensure relevance across different regions.
- Component: The feature is only available in the Stage style.
- Threshold setting: The threshold setting determines which results are highlighted. A higher threshold means only the most relevant content will be promoted.
- Manual configuration: You must manually define the CTA in the page head to ensure the most relevant action is promoted.
- Fallback logic: If no specific CTA is defined, the system uses a fallback link, typically the staging link, to ensure there is always a relevant action available.
