Art Basel returns to the iconic Hong Kong harbor from March 28-30, 2025, with a bold program for its 2025 edition. As over half of the 240 leading galleries come together from across the Asia-Pacific, it continues its role as a premier destination to explore art from the region while maintaining a global perspective.聽
This year the Encounters sector, dedicated to large-scale art works, will feature 18 monumental installations of which more than half are being created specifically for the fair. Titled 鈥淎s The World Turns鈥, the works are presented across four thematic pillars from cultural resilience to the intersection of technology, concluding with the cyclical nature of existence.
The sector will also go beyond the show floor with a project by Zurich-based artist Monster Chetwynd at Hong Kong鈥檚 Pacific Place Park Court, combining sculpture and performance to explore cinematic choreography and metamorphosis.

For the public Film program, the fair boasts a new partnership with Hong Kong independent art institution Para Site. Offering a global perspective that transcends regional boundaries, the sector brings together works by 30 artists which explore the technological realities shaping humankind鈥檚 increasingly hybrid and interconnected existence.

Projected upon the unmissable M+ Fa莽ade across the harbor, the work features visuals that are recomposed by AI and constantly re-edited by an algorithm, giving a tribute to Hong Kong鈥檚 vibrant film culture and a dynamic re-interpretation of history.
With its vibrant mix of exhibitions, large-scale installations, and citywide cultural events, Art Basel Hong Kong is set to bring together a diverse range of voices to celebrate the vibrant local art scene.
